    Requesting a BAA

To request a BAA, or to ask a security question before you sign up, email contact@advancedcare.com or use our contact form.

    What a BAA is

Under the HIPAA Privacy Rule, a business associate is a person or company that performs functions or services for a covered entity (such as a healthcare provider) that involve the use or disclosure of PHI. Billing and claims processing are common examples. Before sharing PHI with a business associate, the covered entity must have a written contract, the BAA, in which the business associate agrees to safeguard that information (45 CFR 164.502(e) and 164.504(e)).
